School-Age Tutoring

Ad Alta Tutoring provides tutoring services to elementary, middle school, and high school students. Sessions are generally one-on-one or in small groups. We offer a wide range of tutoring subjects, including:

  • General subjects (math, foreign languages, writing, and more)

  • Summer enrichment

  • Standardized test preparation

  • Preparation for entry to a new school

Ad Alta works with local schools to create complementary lessons.

We work closely with local D.C., Maryland, and Virginia schools to complement the school curriculum, improve grades, and increase motivation. We build relationships with local schools so that we are familiar with curriculums and requirements.  We currently work with Sidwell Friends, St. Albans School, Wilson High School, and Georgetown Day School.

SAT/ACT Preparation at Edge Ed

Ad Alta Tutoring is pleased to announce that it is partnering with Edge Ed to provide SAT and ACT preparation to its college-bound clients. Edge Ed has a highly successful track record of helping college-bound students significantly improve their scores and realize their collegiate goals.

Adult Tutoring

Ad Alta Tutoring helps adults meet their educational goals, ranging from learning a new language for work or to study a subject relevant to an upcoming vacation. Lessons are available one-on-one or in small groups. Tutoring subjects for adults include:

  • English as a Second Language (ESL)

  • Foreign languages for professional development

  • Foreign languages for personal enrichment


Ad Alta offers tutoring services to companies and organizations.

We work with diplomats, embassies, and organizations to improve language fluency for personal and professional purposes. We have worked with the embassies of Israel, Japan, and Equatorial Guinea, as well as the staff of Dumbarton Oaks. Employer-provided development opportunities promote employee satisfaction and strengthen working relationships.

How It Works

  • Step 1

    Contact Ad Alta with your tutoring needs. We offer lessons for all ages in most subjects.

  • Step 2

    We will identify a tutor who can best meet your needs and virtually introduce you to your tutor to arrange the sessions in your home, at a library, or another convenient public venue.

  • Step 3

    Ad Alta offers a complimentary intake meeting so the tutor, student, and family can discuss educational goals and needs. After tutoring commences, we will check in with you to verify that it's a great fit.

  • Step 4

    You will receive lesson notes following every tutoring session and we will keep in touch throughout the tutoring process. We are also open to feedback.
